Summary
The Nythrall are ancient, moon-bound entities whose existence is intertwined with the Veil and the supernatural conditions of the Veil Covenant. Intelligent, patient, and organized within a strict hierarchy, they are far more than creatures driven by hunger. Nythrall feed upon blood, life force, and emotional energy, with fear serving as a particularly potent source of sustenance. Their victims are not always killed. A Nythrall may drain a victim completely, preserve the individual as a bound servant, or begin a transformation that creates another of their kind. Their abilities extend beyond physical predation. Nythrall can sense life and fear, manipulate shadow, invade the mind through whispers and visions, regenerate from conventional wounds, and maintain psychic connections with those transformed beneath them. Their influence upon the mortal world is constrained by both lunar conditions and the Veil Covenant. When those conditions change—most dangerously during the Blood Moon—the boundary that restricts them becomes considerably less secure.
