Ok Besties… if you enjoy epic fantasy with dark creatures, ancient magic, and heroes carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders, this one is worth adding to your TBR.👌🏼 Evan’s journey from a humble monk to humanity’s potential savior kept me invested, and I loved uncovering the mysteries surrounding Lira and the crumbling veil.

It was fun getting lost in the world-building… with cursed forests, forgotten rituals, and plenty of danger lurking in the shadows. 🤔 Now, the pacing slowed in a few spots for me… but the action, suspense, and looming threat of the Nythrall kept me turning the pages. Overall, this was an engaging start to the trilogy that left me curious to see what happens next when the darkness continues to rise.👍🏼

This book is about the conviction of three persons, connected together through the Ancient Codex, to keep the veil from collapsing, keeping the evil and darkness behind the veil, and getting into our world. After what little action there was, minimal, the same inspiring and determined thoughts were used constantly over and over after each incident but the giving the reader nothing but words. Any action was too general.

The world has always been protected by an ancient veil that shields all of humanity from the evil Nythrall. Now. The veil is beginning to crumble and it’s restoration is in the hands of Evan, a young monk who has been tasked with defending the world from destruction. Lira is a warrior who joins Evan in this daunting task, together they must face their fears as they confront the evil creatures of darkness.

With the rising of the Blood Moon, the Nythrall grow in steength and threaten to unleash all encompassing darkness on the world. Evan must face his fears and doubts of life and summon the strength long since forgotten and accept the very real price of sacrifice.

Will Evan be able to carry his heavy burden or will the veil crumble, leaving the world vulnerable to the darkness?
