The Nythrall dissolved into smoke, their connection severed as the fractures were mended.|“This is the Shard,” Lira said, her voice filled with awe and dread. “It’s a piece of the veil—torn from the threads during the first breach.”|The cavern was chaos, filled with the screeches of the Nythrall and the hum of the Shard’s energy. “Lira, keep going!” Evan shouted, his voice hoarse.
- Location Notes
“The Shard is stable.” Stefan sheathed his blade, his expression grim. She touched the shard. A flash—brief but searing—ripped through her mind. “The Shard could shatter,” Lira said, her voice trembling. “And if that happens…” “The Shard’s unstable.” “We’re almost there,” Lira said, her voice filled with urgency. The shard struck her across the side like a scythe made of light. Blood sprayed—dark against the Vault’s pale glow.
