Brother Tomas and Evan each bring unique perspectives to the story, and their journeys feel meaningful and emotionally engaging. The themes of destiny, sacrifice, and redemption are woven effectively into the narrative, giving the book emotional depth beyond its action-packed plot.

Another highlight is the expansive world-building. Ancient prophecies, forgotten histories, and mythical forces are carefully integrated into the story, creating a rich fantasy setting that feels both vast and believable.

Ok Besties… if you enjoy epic fantasy with dark creatures, ancient magic, and heroes carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders, this one is worth adding to your TBR.👌🏼 Evan’s journey from a humble monk to humanity’s potential savior kept me invested, and I loved uncovering the mysteries surrounding Lira and the crumbling veil.

It was fun getting lost in the world-building… with cursed forests, forgotten rituals, and plenty of danger lurking in the shadows. 🤔 Now, the pacing slowed in a few spots for me… but the action, suspense, and looming threat of the Nythrall kept me turning the pages. Overall, this was an engaging start to the trilogy that left me curious to see what happens next when the darkness continues to rise.👍🏼

This book is about the conviction of three persons, connected together through the Ancient Codex, to keep the veil from collapsing, keeping the evil and darkness behind the veil, and getting into our world. After what little action there was, minimal, the same inspiring and determined thoughts were used constantly over and over after each incident but the giving the reader nothing but words. Any action was too general.
